As many know, Teeswater has been missing its Nativity Scene on the Town Hall lawn for the past two Christmas seasons. While much has been made of the ‘why’ the Nativity Scene ‘disappeared’, a committee has been formed to replace the figurines and recapture some of our traditional local Christmas ‘magic’!
To date members of the community have already come forward to donate the materials and create a new wagon and barn, which was placed on the Town Hall lawn this past season.
Working under the auspices of the Teeswater Agricultural Society (who will be storing the new Nativity Scene and insuring it!), the committee is now asking for broader community support to raise the funds necessary to replace the figurines. Unfortunately there is no Canadian distributor and these figurines will need to be ordered from Bronners of Frankenmuth, Michigan (where the original set was purchased).
As the following figures show, the price ...

Last night the ‘Reach Out and Learn’ continuing education program kicked off at Teeswater United Church!
A co-project between Teeswater United Church and indigoblues.ca, Reach Out and Learn aims to fill the adult education / continuing education gap in Teeswater and area.
The first evening seminar, titled ‘The Technology Survival Guide’ was three hours of information on how to pick the best computer for your needs and take care of it so that it works for YOU for years to come. The evening was filled with information, sometimes simple ideas we never think of, that will keep you out of technology traps that end up costing you an arm and a leg. And from the nods and smiles at the seminar we all have ‘been there – done that’ before!
The next seminar in the series, ‘All The Software Your Computer will EVER Need – For LESS Than $5′ will take place at ...

On November 18th at the Teeswater Curling Club’s Open House, Richard Elliot presented Paul Ruetz a cheque on behalf of the former Teeswater Archery Club to put towards the club.
The money will go towards the youth program which will be free, running Friday nights from 6:00 to 7:30 starting January 13th and run until the end of March.
Curling is a great alternative winter sport that a lot of youth don’t get to experience. It is a fun and easy sport to learn. No equipment is required except clean running shoes as the club provides brooms and sliders. Children from ages 10 and up will learn the basics of curling, develop their skills as well as sportsmanship and teamwork.
The Teeswater Curling Club is run by volunteer power, so we appreciate any financial donations. We love the sponsorship local businesses have provided over the years for our various spiels and events.

Once again South Bruce showed that there are VERY talented people on every street and sideroad in our municipality as the 4th Annual South Bruce Old-Fashioned Christmas Concert took to the Teeswater Town Hall stage on Friday night!
18 performances by local musicians, singers, dancers and readers filled the hall with energy and spirit as we head into the holiday season. And not all were ‘seasoned professionals’, with the acts spanning ages from six to seniors! But all brought ‘professionalism’ to the stage, making for a smooth very enjoyable evening for the packed house.
From Rev. Hannah Lee’s opening prayer to the final chords of ‘We Wish You A Merry Christmas’ it was a truly special evening. Highlights for me were ‘Felice Navidad’ by six year old Triena Dietz and the ‘special guest’ (none other than the Junior General!) invited up on stage to play with the Hillcrest School Band – what ...
