Teeswater River Cleanup 2012

On Sunday September 16th 2012, as part of a national effort called The Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup, 20 dedicated and hard working people collected more then 460 lbs of garbage along the Teeswater River! Unusual items collected this year were a bowling ball, mail box, electric can opener and a metal boat! Among the many items found were an excessive number of plastic bags (27), beverage cans (32) and food wrappers/containers (32).

We encourage all members of the community to help foster a better stewardship ethic and awareness of the Teeswater River ecosystem and all rivers! The plan is to cleanup the entire length of the river. Mark your calendar to help next year on Sunday Sept 15, 2013!
