Teeswater Soccer News

While many are still dealing with hockey play-offs, and figure skating carnivals we are springing ahead with thoughts of SOCCER. Spring is on the way! A meeting was held at the Teeswater Agri-Curl Thursday, Feb. 9. The executive from the South Bruce Soccer Association, Teeswater Club, attended. Covering a number of topics, choosing two registration dates and receiving a nice big donation made this a great ‘kick-off’ to the soccer season!

Our first SOCCER REGISTRATION NIGHT will be held at the Teeswater Agri-Curl on Friday, February 24, from 6pm to 7:30pm. We encourage new players and experienced players from levels U6 to U12 to sign up. We may have enough interest to put together a U14 team this season too! The number of youths playing soccer in the whole league, (Mildmay, Walkerton, Neustadt, Paisley etc), keeps growing.

The aim of our league is for kids to have fun and learn new skills in a friendly, respectful atmosphere. We only ask that your child is keen to try, practices good sportsmanship and has a few pieces of equipment. It is one of the least expensive team sports your child can be involved in!

We also encourage parents and high-school soccer players to come out to help. Coaches, trainers and more members for the executive committee are encouraged to join us! Volunteering with kids is fun, rewarding and a good way to get a little exercise yourself!

Our second night for registration, if you can’t make the first, is March 8, 6-7:30pm at the Teeswater Agri-Curl.

Take a wee sprite of an Alberta girl, a few years on the open road in an 18 wheeler, a small Ontario town, a rambunctious Chocolate Lab, stir briskly and well… Frankly… you get Lynne Frank's take on life in the Teeswater area. Between operating the skein winder at breakneck speed and learning how to knit (not to mention searching high and low for the perfect Band-Aid) Lynne shares her favourite recipes, tips on playing a 'killer' game of Euchre and thoughts on just about anything that piques her interest.
