On Friday April 29th and Saturday April 30th, FE Madill Secondary School in Wingham will be holding a 30 hour famine in association with World Vision. As a way to involve and benefit the local community, volunteers will be holding a food drive Friday night and Saturday morning. Volunteers will be going door to door in Wingham to collect any food people are willing to donate, and volunteers will be set up at Foodland in Wingham also collecting food donations. All food will be donated to the local food bank.
To raise money to donate to World Vision 30 hour famine, volunteers will be participating in an Adopt a Highway near Lucknow on Friday April 29th to receive a donation from the Lucknow Kinsmen. There possibly may be a car wash on the main street of Wingham on Saturday morning to also fundraise donations. Money raised will be given to World Vision 30 hour famine to benefit developing countries and to fight poverty. The money will be used to fund the building of schools in developing countries, build wells for clean water, fund food and nutrition programs to inform people how to live a healthy lifestyle, and fund child protection programs for child victims of rape, prostitution, acts of violence and a life living on the street. Tens of millions of kids don’t get a proper education, almost half the world’s population doesn’t have access to clean water and every day, 26,000 children under the age of five die from malnutrition. Please give generously, support the local community and a good cause.
