Day Two in The Rainforest
10
The Word must be spreading!

Day two of the Vacation Bible School saw 65 children attending, the largest group ever! And by the looks of it this years program 'SonQuest Rainforest' is a BIG hit! The more the merrier indeed – if you think your child would like to attend bring them to the Knox Presbyterian Church at 9 a.m.!

Just a reminder that although Vacation Bible School is free, if you feel it in your heart to donate, Sleeping Children Around The World (SCAW) would greatly appreciate your support. Information about SCAW was sent home with all the children on Monday and more information on this excellent charity can be had by contacting Flora Visser. Flora tells me that last year the VBS raised $1000 towards buying bedkits (that funds almost 30!). Hopefully with more children this year we can top that number.

SCAW is a unique charity in which 100% of monies donated are used to purchase bedkits! Volunteers with SCAW are not paid for their time (they even pay their own airfares!), there are NO professional fundraisers and the founders, Margaret and Murray Dryden even gave their house to SCAW so it would have a place to organize charity and relief efforts!
For more information on SCAW visit http://www.scaw.org

As well as crafts, stories and activities, VBS 2010 is about a lot of good fun and togetherness – a chance for children to see their friends again in the middle of the summer and learn together.

And there is a lot of singing going on!
