Teeswater Library Reopens!

Finally the doors are open to the 'brand new',
well at least beautifully renovated Teeswater Library!

Now boasting TWO floors of airy, bright library space, Teeswater Library is sure to become a favourite (was it ever not?) in the community! Congratulations to the Library Renovation Committee, Friends of the Library and Domm Construction for a job well done! And while congratulations are being handed out, take a moment to pat yourself on the back! After all it was the support of everyone in our community that made this renovation possible in the first place!

Talking to an excited Lynda Benninger and staff this afternoon it sounds like there are some great programs and facilities planned for the library.

Lynda and Charmila Ireland will be continuing the literacy program and already plans are in progress for regular school visits from Hillcrest and Sacred Heart Schools here in Teeswater as well as the school in Formosa.

New programs will also start almost immediately. July 28th will see the launch of the Teeswater Library Book Club, beginning with a reading of 'Tuesdays With Morrie'.

Programs for the next generation are also happening at the library. The four computer terminals in the library will shortly be enhanced by a wireless network, to allow you to bring in your laptop and surf the web while researching a project! And for those interested in Microsoft courses, MS Word, Excel and Power Point seminars will be offered by the Employment Resource Centre in Walkerton.

After months of the library hiding in the corner of the Recreation Centre it is great to see Teeswater's Library once again open its doors to the community!

Library Hours are 1-5 pm Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 1-7 pm Wednesday and 10-1 Saturday.

Mark has also penned more than 100 poems and essays and is an internationally known digital artist.
