Hillcrest Hub June 2010

New to Bluewater? Changing schools within Bluewater? Please contact your nearest school as soon as possible to register your children. Our schools are
currently working on their school organization of classes for the upcoming school year. Your early registration will greatly assist schools with this process.
Staffing and classroom organization discussions for next school year are well underway in our school. However, we would like you to know that changes can occur in our plans that may result in a reorganization during September. As for all students in Bluewater District School Board, placement in classes during the full month of September is considered tentative and is subject to change while the school’s final enrolment is determined. Therefore, there is potential for your child to have a change in their classroom or teacher after school begins. The changes will hopefully be completed by early October. Class placements will be available on September 7th, 2010. Thank you for your understanding and trust in our professional decisions with regard to the education of your children, our students. It is greatly appreciated.
If students have alternate bussing arrangements this year, we will assume that those arrangements are the same for next year unless we receive notification otherwise. If your child is a new registrant or will require alternate arrangements for next year, please be sure to contact the school, even if an older sibling already has alternate arrangements. Parents are required to complete a new form if they need to make alternate bussing arrangements.
As we head into the month of June, particularly after having had some lovely summer weather already, it will be important for all students and visitors to remember our Hillcrest Dress Code. As outlined in the planners and the students handbook, students are asked to remember the following:
- Shorts and skirts need to be a modest length, even for phys. ed.
- Shirts need to cover shoulders and midriff, shoulder straps should be at least 5 cm wide.
- Tank top sleeves must be tight enough to avoid exposure of the chest.
- All underclothing must be covered.
- Sayings and advertisements on t-shirts and hats must be appropriate for an elementary school setting (see handbook for guidelines).
