3 Minute Puffy Eggs

This is not quite an omelette and not quite a souffle – say something in between, easy to prepare and a fan favourite around our house.

Ingredients:

  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp milk or cream
  • 1 tbsp butter or margarine
  • 1/4 c grated cheese (optional)

Preparation:

  • In a microwave safe bowl beat the egg and milk.
  • Add the butter to the bowl
  • Cover and nuke on HIGH for 3 minutes
  • Season with salt / pepper / ketchup / whatever
  • Eat (careful it might be a tad on the hot side)

Variation:

  • If you include the grated cheese, nuke for 1 1/2 minutes, uncover, toss the cheese on top of the mixture and nuke for the other 1 1/2 minutes.

Notes:

  • Time is approximate. If you have a thermo-nuclear microwave it might take a little less time and for a wheezer perhaps a wee bit more.
  • Take care removing the bowl from the microwave as that sucker will be plenty hot.
