What to Do on March Break
10
There are plenty of activities planned around our area during the March Break and with the weatherman predicting mild weather with even some sunshine in the forecast into next week, this might be a great time to explore some of the things Teeswater and South Bruce have to offer the whole family!
The Municipality of South Bruce will be offering a full March Break program including swimming, skating, curling and bowling through the Teeswater and Mildmay recreation facilities. For more information check out the latest recreation guide or contact Steve Schwippl at sschwippl@town.southbruce.on.ca.
Teeswater United Church will be offering a March Break Children’s Program of crafts and games. The program will run Tuesday, March 16th and Thursday March 18th from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the church. Register for this program by Friday, March 12th by calling Flora Visser at -8899.
The Formosa Farm Toy Show and Sale runs Friday, March 21st to Sunday, March 23rd, 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Knights of Columbus Hall. The show includes an auction from 1 to 1:30 p.m. with proceeds to the Cancer Society. Admission is $2, children under 8 free with an adult.
Further afield the Grey Cup Comes to Saugeen Shores Tuesday, March 16th, to Wednesday, March 17th at the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre (10:00 am – 5:00 pm). Also did you know families can enjoy Saturday morning movie and a popcorn at the Bruce County Museum? Enjoy movies from the past that bring back memories for the parents, and enjoyment for the kids! Movies begin at 11:30am and admission is $5 for a family of 4, $3 per additional person or $3 for an individual.
And don’t forget the Help Haiti Fundraiser at the White Rose Cafe in Walkerton on Sunday, March 14th, from 7 to 9:30 p.m.
Lots to do in our area over the March Break and with hockey winding down and a couple weeks before softball seasons begin now would be a great time to just get out and explore our own area rather than some faraway place!
